Recall: priority total Pet care All natural Bullstrips

Carolina Prime Pet Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of certain lots of its priority total Pet care All natural Bullstrips due to possible Salmonella contamination.  A us Food and drug administration press release specifies that affected product is the 5-count package with the UPC 0-21130-42080-3 and lot Codes 20082712 S 3195 and 20090312 S3195. routine testing yielded a positive test for Salmonella; however, Carolina Prime Pet is not aware of any reported illnesses.

The FDA states that:

Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some family pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy family pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.

If you have purchased the recalled treats, you are encouraged to discontinue use immediately. Either discard the product or return to place of purchase for a refund.
